We have on site concierge that will help you plan your activities during your stay, from helping you make reservations to one or more of the tour options in the area to arrange a private chef. We recommend to contacting him before your arrivals to help plan your stay.
Access
The access to Portasol can be by car or by plane. From San José to Portasol the driving distance is 115 miles vía Quepos and 119 via Dominical. From Quepos to Portasol is 18 miles southeast and only 11 miles northwest from Dominical to Portasol.
Sansa and Nature Air, two domestic airlines offer daily flights from San José to Quepos. The approximate flying time is 20 minutes. Private charters are also an option.
Weather
Portasol accommodations are located in the middle of the Costa Rican Rainforest. The weather is tropical, warm and humid. The average annual temperature is around 80ºF (26ºC) and the average relative humidity higher than 90%.
In this area there are two well defined seasons: the dry season, from December through April, characterized by sunny days and higher temperatures; and the rainy season from May through November, usually sunny in the morning, but rainy in the afternoon.
Portasol altitude ranges from 150 feet (46 meters) up to 2200 feet (670 meters) above sea level.
What to Bring?
Clothes:
Light and comfortable. Swimming suit. Rain coat is a must if you visit us during the rainy season.
Shoes:
Comfortable, cross training tennis shoes or hiking boots are recommended, waterproof if possible and if you are visiting during the rainy season. Sandals are always necessary.
Accessories:
UVA/UVB proof sun glasses, hat.
First Aid:
UVA/UVB Sun block, bug repellent and basic first need or personal medication.

Camera, video camera, binoculars and usefull accesories you consider to take. |
